DiSarcina leaves Red Sox for Angels

Gary DiSarcina, the minor league infield coordinator of the Red Sox last season, was named a special assistant to Angels general manager Tony Reagins.

DiSarcina, a native of Billerica, was with the Red Sox minor league staff for four seasons. He was the manager of Single A Lowell for three seasons before being promoted to coordinator.

The UMass-Amherst product played parts of 12 seasons for the Angels from 1989-2000.
