New this summer at Fenway Park

The Red Sox just sent out a press release on some new items at Fenway Park this summer. Here are the highlights:

The Boston Red Sox today launched a series of initiatives for the second half of the season intended to enhance the fan experience at Fenway Park and provide more options for fans to enjoy new concession facilities as well as a special opportunity for fans to share their ideas and stories for the upcoming 100th anniversary of America’s Most Beloved Ballpark.

Expanded Fenway Park Concessions
Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy several new food and beverage offerings during the second half of the season. The Taste of Fenway concession stand on Yawkey Way by Gate D will now feature a unique raw bar with fresh shellfish sold by the piece including clams on the half shell, shucked oysters and shrimp. Cooked seafood will also be available at the stand with favorites such as lobster rolls, crab cake sandwiches, fish and chips, fried clams and New England clam chowder. Cooked seafood items like the fried clams and fish and chips are freshly battered and cooked to order.

A new, thinly sliced Italian beef sandwich with fresh homemade mozzarella, topped with au jus gravy and served on a French baguette, will be available at three deli stands throughout the ballpark, and sno-cones will also be added to Wally’s favorites on Yawkey Way.

Those looking for lighter fare will find expanded healthy selections such as fresh cut fruits like watermelon and other seasonal melon, yogurts, jello, salads and wraps. These items will be available at various concession stands and through premium in-seat services.

Fans taking a tour of Fenway Park, and others who might just be in the Fenway neighborhood, can now stop by Gate B for a Fenway Frank or to purchase a souvenir during the second half of the season. The Gate B Picnic Area and Right Field Team Store located in the Big Concourse will now be open to the public during the season from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on non-game days and will have select concession offerings and Red Sox merchandise available throughout the day.

Fan Engagement
In an effort to include Red Sox Nation in the upcoming 100th anniversary planning and celebration of Fenway Park, a new initiative called Tell Your Tale will begin during the second half of the season and will give fans an opportunity to record their favorite moment or memory at Fenway Park. Each game day, members of the Red Sox Productions team will conduct interviews beginning two hours before the game on Yawkey Way and then during the game in the Big Concourse (2nd inning), Cumberland Farms Terrace (3rd inning), Coca-Cola Deck (4th inning), and Steiner Deck (5th inning).

Additionally, the Red Sox will be hosting a focus group with members of the Red Sox executive team called Tell it to the Sox to solicit ideas from fans about the ballpark’s upcoming 100th anniversary celebration and other ideas to improve the fan experience at Fenway Park. More information on when the focus group will be held and how interested fans can take part will be announced in the coming months.

Ongoing Favorites
Other initiatives that have been Fenway Park traditions and will continue throughout the second half of the season include Player Photo Days, where immediately following batting practice, a current player will take photos with fans for thirty minutes, and Autograph Alley, which makes Red Sox legends from past teams available at the Red Sox Team Store on Yawkey Way to fans for approximately an hour to sign autographs.
