MINNEAPOLIS — When you travel around the country to cover baseball, your love of a particular city is often related to where the ballpark is located.
It’s fun to be in places where the ballpark is part of the city’s fabric, located near the hotels, restaurants, and public transportation. In places like San Francisco, Denver, and Seattle, new ballparks have transformed sections of the city.
It looks that way in Minnesota as bars and restaurants spring up around beautiful Target Field. As this view shows, it’s right in the center of everything.
If the day comes when Fenway Park is replaced, here is hoping that the Red Sox remain right in the city and not out in the suburbs. There something great about the local nine being a real part of the city they represent.
