Red Sox coverage in today’s Globe

The Globe had a good showing in the annual Associated Press Sports Editors contest. The paper received top-10 honors for the daily section, Sunday section, special section and web site categories.

The special section honored was the Red Sox preview.

Only four papers in the country swept the three section and web site categories. also was named top 10 in the multimedia category. That was for an interactive to determine the greatest Red Sox player of all time.


The Globe also had top-10 writing awards for project reporting on injuries the Red Sox sustained in 2010, commentary (Dan Shaughnessy for a selection of columns), explanatory (Bob Hohler on the downfall of the 2011 Red Sox), investigative (Hohler for uncovering the sexual abuse allegations against tennis Hall of Famer Bob Hewitt) and Greg Bedard for beat reporting on the Patriots.

The project team was Peter Abraham, Amalie Benjamin, Nick Cafardo, Sean Smith, Chad Finn, Daigo Fujiwara, and Javier Zarracina.
