Girardi: Beer ban makes sense

The Yankees do not serve beer in their clubhouse, a policy that has been in place for several years. And manager Joe Girardi agrees with Bobby Valentine issuing the same edict for the Red Sox.

“I think with what has happened with some of the accidents and liabilities it makes sense to me,” Girardi told reporters in Tampa. “You have to be careful in this day and age. You don’t want people drinking and driving. You don’t mind a guy having a beer, but when you are home you are going to get in a car and drive home. I think it’s a pretty good policy.”
