Good morning from Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — There will be a baseball game today. And then a good-bye.

The Red Sox will send Daniel Bard, Alfredo Aceves and assorted prospects six miles across town to Hammond Stadium to play the Twins at 1:05 p.m. in a “B” game.

It’s free if you’re in the area, so stop on by. Each pitcher is scheduled for one inning. Those on the roster are:

Pitchers: Alfredo Aceves, Daniel Bard, Clayton Mortensen, Jesse Carlson, Tony Pena Jr., Alex Wilson, Will Inman, Justin Thomas.

Position players: Lars Anderson, Dan Butler, Pedro Ciriaco, Luis Exposito, Alex Hassan, Jose Iglesias, Josh Kroeger, Ryan Lavarnway, Che-Hsuan Lin, Juan Carlos Linares, Will Middlebrooks, Jason Repko, Nate Spears, Oscar Tejeda.

Then, at 5:30 p.m., Jason Varitek will announce his retirement at JetBlue Park.

Hang out here. I’ll be live-blogging the game and of course we’ll have a report on the Varitek press conference.
