DUNEDIN, Fla. — Lefthanded reliever Franklin Morales returned to camp on Tuesday after spending a few days in Boston for a medical test related to his physical.
Bobby Valentine said the issue was not related to Morales’s arm. But he did not disclose what the problem was.
“He felt real good about the results of the exam that he had. He’s a couple of days from resuming his throwing,” Valentine said.
Morales did have what was described as “weakness” in his shoulder at the start of camp and has fallen behind the other pitchers. But as a reliever, he has ample time to catch up and be prepared for the season.
