FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Red Sox made two more moves today, optioning catcher Dan Butler and righthander Alex Wilson to Triple A Pawtucket.
Butler hit .300 (3 for 10) in eight games. John Farrell has praised his work behind the plate several times. Wilson pitched 7.2 innings over six appearances and allowed one earned run on six hits. He struck out nine and walked two.
Butler will likely be the backup to Ryan Lavarnway at Pawtucket. Wilson will be in the Paw Sox bullpen.
