We’ll monitor the Jon Lester talks. We learned Saturday that Lester’s agent, Seth Levinson, has engaged in at least two discussions concerning Lester’s contract extension.
Not much to report on the David Ortiz extension talks. Ortiz’ agents had one face-to-face conversation, but nothing new has developed there.
Grady Sizemore said he’s OK after crashing into the wall at Hammond Field Saturday. We’ll check on what the day after is like for him, which remains key to whether Sizemore can take the pounding of everyday playing.
Felix Doubront will pitch today for the Red Sox vs. the Orioles. Doubront worked out in a structured environment this offseason. We’ll see if he can take the next step toward being one of the top lefties in baseball this season.
