Notes: Any lingering rain is expected to be over by game time…. According to ESPN Stats and Info, David Ortiz’s home run off Masahiro Tanaka last night travelled 482 feet, the longest home run by a Red Sox player in the last nine seasons… Will Middlebrooks is back in the PawSox lineup and batting third tonight… John Lackey has a 9.82 ERA in his last two starts…. He gave up a career-worst four homers in a 7-4 loss at Yankee Stadium two starts ago… Pineda led the Yankees to a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox on April 10 when he allowed a Daniel Nava homer and struck out seven. You may remember a little pine tar accusation that surfaced in that game… Nava was optioned to Pawtucket today and Alex Wilson was called up to beef up the bullpen… Shane Victorino may be taking the roster sport on Thursday… Victorino is 1-for-11 with an infield hit in his rehab stint… Sizemore is 1-for-17 in the leadoff spot since Friday and the Sox outfielder is in a 1-for-26 slump since April 15.
