Notes: The Red Sox today recalled lefthanded pitcher Drake Britton from Pawtucket and added him as the club’s 26th man on the active roster for the second game… Doubront was hammered and not helped by five Red Sox errors — including one of his own — in a 14-5 thumping by the Yankees in his last outing… No one on the Rays roster has homered off Doubront although Evan Longoria is 6-for-17 with three doubles… Doubront lost to the Rays in his last outing against Tampa Bay on July 29, 2013 when he gave up two earned runs in five innings in a 2-1 loss… Archer is 0-1 with a 5.50 ERA in three road starts this season. In three career starts against the Red Sox, Archer is 1-2 with a 5.27 ERA. Last June, Archer gave up four runs on five hits with five walks in 4-2/3 innings in his only start at Fenway.
