The Red Sox finally pushed past the .500 mark over the weekend in Texas. Now they will try to close in on first place in the AL East when they visit the Minnesota Twins for the opener of a three-game series on Tuesday.

Notes: Felix Doubront was scheduled to pitch tonight but the Red Sox called an audible and are going with Peavy tonight, Doubront on Wednesday night… Peavy is 7-3, 2.84 in 13 career starts against the Twins. In two starts against Minnesota last season as a member of the White Sox, Peavy allowed three runs over 14 innings and struck out 15… Nolasco has gone 2-2 with a 5.24 ERA in four career starts against the Red Sox and pitched eight scoreless innings against Boston as a member of the Dodgers in LA last season, giving up two hits, striking out six, without issuing a walk… Shane Victorino is 8-for-22 with two home runs in his last five games against the Twins….
