The Red Sox announced today they will host the ninth annual “Futures at Fenway” minor league game and screen the epic baseball fild “Field of Dreams” at Fenway Park on Sunday, July 13.
This year’s minor league game features Boston’s short-season Single-A affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, who will make their sixth appearance at Futures at Fenway taking on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
For the second straight year, fans are welcome to bring their dogs to the ballpark for the game. A dog parade and “Best in Show” competition judging the best dog in the parade will precede the game.
Approximately 30 minutes after the game ends, ‘Field of Dreams’ will be shown on the video board. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the 1989 story that stars Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones, features Amy Madigan, Ray Liotta, Burt Lancaster, and Dwier Brown, and includes a memorable scene filmed at Fenway Park.
Admission to Futures at Fenway is $15 for both the minor league game and the movie. Tickets are available on redsox.com/futures. Fans interested in bringing their dog can purchase a special ticket available over the phone at 877-REDSOX9, or in person at the Red Sox ticket office. Those attending with pets may enter through Gate E. Fenway Park gates will open at 2 p.m. for the 3:30 p.m. game.
