Pedroia, Ortiz Out of Red Sox Starting Lineup in Cincinnati Finale

The Red Sox wrap up the brief two-game set with the Reds in a matinee matchup today.

The Sox will be without veterans David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia in today’s starting lineup. Pedroia has played in 115 of 118 Red Sox games this season. Brock Holt gets the start at second base today. Ortiz, who gets squeezed out of the DH spot in the NL park, played at first base last night. Mike Napoli is back in his regular position today.

Rookie Anthony Ranaudo gets the start for Boston. The 24-year-old righthander picked up a victory in his major league debut against the Yankees on Aug. 1. Ranaudo held New York to two runs in six innings, allowing four hits and four walks while striking out two.
