Red Sox Re-Call Steven Wright, Designate Corey Brown

The Red Sox re-called right handed pitcher Steven Wright from Triple-A Pawtucket and designated outfielder Corey Brown for assignment.

Wright was last up in the majors Aug. 3 but did not play in the game. He’s a knuckleballer who has gone 6-3 with a 2.81 ERA over 14 starts between Pawtucket (13 starts) and Double-A Portland (1 start).

Brown, 28, played in three games for the Sox since being called up Aug. 5. He went hitless in each of his at bats. He has played in 39 major league games in his career.
