Asante Samuel (holdout) and David Thomas, who is on the physically unable to perform list with a broken foot, are the only two Patriots players who are not present at today’s practice, which is a walkthrough with the players wearing shorts and jersey tops.
Several PUPers are in uniform. Wide receivers Troy Brown, Donte’ Stallworth and Chad Jackson are all in uniform. Injured safety Rashad Baker, who is also in uniform, is making his first appearance since the first practice of camp on July 27.
Injured tight ends Kyle Brady and Garrett Mills are also present and in uniform, so is linebacker Adalius Thomas, who missed Friday’s walkthrough. The team still has not given a reason for Thomas’s absence.
PUPers Richard Seymour and Eddie Jackson are present, but not in uniform.
Updated at 7:04 p.m. — Mea culpa. Originally I said that safety Rashad Baker was making his first appearance of camp. Baker did participate in the very first practice of training camp on July 27 and had been absent since. Practice has concluded. I have to write for the paper, but will be back with another post later.
