NEW ORLEANS — The Saints remain undefeated and improve to 11-0 beating the Patriots 38-17.
4th quarter, 7;49, Patriots 17, Saints 38: Marques Colston gets a touchdown, catching a 20-yard pass. It was the fifth passing touchdown of the night for Brees.
3rd quarter, 4:08,Patriots 17, Saints 31: The Patriots leave the red zone empty handed with 4:08 left in the quarter. On fourth and 4 from the Saints 10, Brady fired a pass to Moss but McKenzie was there to break up the play.
3rd quarter, 9:02, Patriots 17, Saints 31: Another botched defensive play floated the Saints downfield. Saints receiver Marques Colston beat Wilhite, who stumbled to the ground, and ran 68 yards to set up another Saints touchdown. Brees fired the pass on the first play. Two plays later, Brees found Darnell Dinkins for the 2-yard touchdown. Three plays, 74 yards in 1:22.
3rd quarter, 10:24, Patriots 17, Saints 24: Maroney gets his second touchdown of the night, running 2 yards for the touchdown to end an eight-play, 81 yard drive. It was the opening drive of the quarter and the Patriots almost gave the Saints another scoring opportunity when Maroney fumbled on the first play. The Saints recovered, but Maroney came back to punch the ball away allowing the Patriots to recover on their 19.
3rd quarter, 14:40, Patriots 10, Saints 24: Saints cornerback Randall Gay has a leg injury and is out for the rest of the game.
Halftime, Patriots 10, Saints 24: Not much clicking for the Patriots defense and that has meant points for the Saints. Brees completed 11 of 13 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Brady has completed 12 of 21 passes for 124 yards and one interception. Wes Welker has four catches for 25 yards and Randy Moss has one catch for 9 yards.
2nd quarter, 1:50, Patriots 10, Saints 24: The Patriots corners are getting a workout. Brees just connected with Robert Meachem on a 38-yard touchdown pass. Meachem got a step on Jonathan Wilhite and it was all he needed for the touchdown.
2nd quarter, 4:14, Patriots 10, Saints 17: Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 36-yard field goal to cap a drive of 11 plays and 58 yards.
2nd quarter, 9:53, Patriots 7, Saints 17: Saints receiver Devery Henderson caught a 75-yard pass on the first play of the drive to give the Saints another touchdown. It was the longest play from scrimmage for the Saints this season.
2nd quarter, 11:00, Patriots 7, Saints 10: Saints running back Mike Bell left the game with a stinger, but is expected to return.
2nd quarter, 12:55, Patriots 7, Saints 10: The Saints made the most of McKenzie’s interception. Pierre Thomas grabbed a pass from Brees, broke a tackle along the sideline and rumbled 18 yards for the touchdown. It capped a 7-play, 59-yard drive that took 3:07 off the clock.
1st quarter, 1:02, Patriots 7, Saints 3: Saints cornerback Mike McKenzie just signed with his former team within the last week and he just made a big play with a 1:02 left in the first, intercepting Brady’s pass to give the Saints possession on their 31.
1st quarter, 3:34, Patriots 7, Saints 3: Maroney rushed for 39 yards on seven carries on that scoring drive. The Patriots also went for it on fourth down twice to keep the drive alive.

Laurence Maroney scored a touchdown in his sixth consecutive game, running 4 yards into the end zone to give the Patriots a 7-3 lead. The 14-play drive took 7 minutes, 40 seconds as the Patriots drove 80 yards.
1st quarter, 11:14, Patriots 0, Saints 3: Everything started right for the Saints in their first possession but it ended in the Patriots’ favor.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees fired a 33-yard pass to Devery Henderson on the first play of the game, carrying the Saints to the Patriots 33-yard line. The Saints would reach the Patriots 15-yard line, but the Patriots were able to keep the Saints out of the end zone. The Saints settled for John Carney’s 30-yard field goal with 11:14 left in the first quarter.
