Belichick: ‘Whoever plays, plays’

Yesterday, coach Bill Belichick said he hadn’t given any thought to whether the Patriots will rest their starters Sunday against the Houston Texans. Today, that hadn’t changed. He provided a little bit of insight into how he’s approaching the week at the moment.

“No, that’s not really something we’ve done or, in all honesty, even anticipate doing, having that discussion right now,” Belichick said. “What’s going to happen now is where going to find a game plan. Players are going to come in tomorrow. And everybody is going to get ready to play. That’s how we’re going to approach it. Whoever plays, plays. Whoever doesn’t play, doesn’t play.

“We could go out there on the first play of the game and something could happen and somebody could be in there. Everybody needs to be ready to go all the time.”

Here, Christopher L. Gasper explains why he believes Tom Brady should be carrying a clipboard Sunday.

Oh, one thing to consider: The current betting line on makes the Texans an eight-point favorite. So some folks who know a lot about a lot are guessing the Patriots sit their horses.
