(2d quarter, 6:24, Patriots 10, Texans 7 ): The Texans get a bonus when Sanders was flagged for a tough hit on receiver David Anderson in the end zone. Anderson was falling as he attempted a catch and was hit from behind by Sanders. Anderson was down for a few minutes but walked off the field under his own power. Sanders received a flag for unnecessary roughness that moved the ball to first and goal from the Patriots 9.
(2d quarter, 9:51, Patriots 10, Texans 7): Stephen Gostkowski booms a 51-yard field goal to give the Patriots the lead. It completed a 9-play, 58 yard drive in 4:47. The field goal is the second longest of the season and third longest of Gostkowski’s career. He is 4 of 5 from more than 50 yards.

It is the first touchdown for Taylor since scoring against the Falcons in September. Taylor returned last week after missing 10 games with an ankle injury.
(1st quarter 7:17, Patriots 0, Texans 7): Welker had his head buried in his towel, clearly upset. When players came back to the sideline, they gave Welker their support and he was carted to the locker room with a towel draped over his head.

(1st quarter, 11:19, Patriots 0, Texans 7): The explosive Texans offense displayed its strengths on the opening drive, going 76 yards on seven plays in 3 minutes, 41 seconds. Matt Schaub completed the drive with a 25-yard touchdown pass to tight end Joel Dreessen.

Brady ribs: Charlie Casserly reported on CBS that Tom Brady has three broken ribs. The first mention of Brady injuring his ribs came in the Patriots’ last meeting against Miami. Brady left the first quarter briefly after taking a hit in that game. Ribs have been added to the practice report ever since.
Lineup changes: Mike Wright is going to start at end for Warren and Sammy Morris is starting for Laurence Maroney.
