Yesterday, some things came out that could be classified as “no big deal” … Narcolepsy and ADD.
But there’s no downplaying this one: My ESPN Austin radio buddy and former Dallas Morning News colleague Chip Brown is reporting over at Rivals.com that Kindle may need microfracture surgery.
That’s no small deal. Most guys who go through the surgery are nearing the end of their career. Kindle may need surgery is coming before the start of his.
Honestly, this is a deal-breaker.
The fact that Kindle’s been playing as the cartilage in his knee has been wasting away says a lot about the guy’s football character, which I’d already heard was very, very high. But this injury is something that’s put an end to so many guys’ careers … And there’s so much history of guys being ruined by it.
If the Patriots’ medicals showed that Kindle will need this procedure, well, then it’s hard to blame the team for passing.
