Ojinnaka moving on from suspension

FOXBOROUGH — Quinn Ojinnaka has been a member of the Patriots for two days and he already has the lingo down.

Ojinnaka, who was acquired in a trade with Atlanta, said he is looking forward to competing for a spot on the line. He also didn’t want to talk much about the one-game suspension he is facing to start the season.

“I haven’t thought about the suspension,” said Ojinnaka when asked if he appealed. “It is what it is. I got suspended. I’m just moving on from that now.”

A few more moments with Ojinnaka:

On the opportunity to compete for a starting spot: “It looks like I have a pretty good chance, but at the same time right now I’m just focused on learning the offense and playing football.”

On if he was surprised to be traded?: “I was totally surprised. I was getting ready to go to sleep and get ready for practice with Falcons. … I heard the news. I was shocked at first but when I realized where I was coming to, I was real excited after that.”

On the pace: “It’s definitely different from where I was at in the past.. … It’s much faster, here, I would say. The offense is pretty much the same, it’s just that the terminology is a little different. I’m just trying to pick that up right now.”

On playing with Brady: “It’s an upgrade with Tom Brady being a future Hall of Famer, not saying that Matt Ryan wasn’t good. He was a great quarterback and going to be a great quarterback. You definitely have to bust your butt to make sure he doesn’t get touched, I mean it was the same in Atlanta. You still have to work hard and study get in your playbooks and bust your butt everyday.
