In the never-ending battle that is the Patriots-Jets Border War, another shot has been fired: New England is adding former Jet WR/RB Danny Woodhead to the roster just a day before its showdown with its AFC East rival.
The 26-year old Nebraska native is listed at 5-foot-9, 200 pounds; he played in 12 games for the Jets last season, including two of their playoff games. He recorded nine catches and 15 carries, plus played on special teams.
New England had an open roster spot after the trade of Laurence Maroney earlier this week.
Last year, New York traded for former New England backup QB Kevin O’Connell, and coach Rex Ryan had all of the former Pats on the Jets, including O’Connell and Damien Woody, serve as team captains for the game at the Meadowlands in Week 2.
