Welcome to Gillette

Good morning —

A big-game feel is in the air around Gillette Stadium this morning as fans, stadium workers and other game-day folks ready for this afternoon’s game with the Baltimore Ravens. Tailgaters started filling the parking lots earlier than usual, meaning Route 1 has come to a crawl earlier than usual.

Cornerback Terrence Wheatley, hoping to see his first game action of the season coming off a broken bone in his foot suffered in Week 3 of the preseason, was on the field for an early, early warmup. Though he is listed as probable, it isn’t clear yet if he will be playing, though New England can certainly use the depth at that position.

Fred Taylor has already been declared out for the Patriots, and safety James Sanders is questionable (hamstring); he is a game-time decision.

For the Ravens, nose tackle Haloti Ngata (knee) is listed as questionable but told reporters on Friday that he is “ready to go” for the game.

We’ll have updates throughout the course of the day, including game inactives, which are released 90 minutes before kickoff.
