FOXBOROUGH — Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis was fined $5,000 for his chop block in the first quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a league spokesman.
Green-Ellis was penalized 15 yards for the play that happened inside the Steelers’ 15-yard line. The Patriots managed a field goal on the drive.
James Sanders, who initiated the hit against Steelers receiver Hines Ward, was not fined for the hit that knocked the receiver out of the game.
LaMarr Woodley was fined $12,500 for his late hit against Tom Brady in that game. Woodley was flagged for roughing the passer.
