Patriots players avoid battle of words

FOXBOROUGH — The spice of the week leading up to the Jets-Patriots match up on Sunday will not come from Foxborough.

A few players were asked about the various comments flowing out of the mouths of Jets players and coach Rex Ryan. But the Patriots weren’t going to get involved in that battle today.

“We’re not worried about that at all,” Patriots safety Jarrad Page said. “We’re going to go out and practice the same way. We’re going to do what we got to do because none of that really matters. it’s just how you play in the game. After the game, everybody will forget about what was said this week and you’ll just know who won or lost that game, who’s moving on and who’s not.”

Today is the first practice of the week for the Patriots. The team is planning to hold practice either way tomorrow, despite the snow forecast.
