How will the 8th Circuit’s ruling on the lockout affect negotiations? Not much if the NFL and the Players Association are to be taken at their word.
The two sides jointly offered the following statement moments ago:
“While we respect the court’s decision, today’s ruling does not change our mutual recognition that this matter must be resolved through negotiation. We are committed to our current discussions and reaching a fair agreement that will benefit all parties for years to come, and allow for a full 2011 season.”
It’s a very good sign that the two are still in lockstep about negotiations. Of course, the proof will come if an agreement can be reached in short order.
