FOXBOROUGH — Patriots defensive lineman Mike Wright was placed on injured reserve today due to the effects of a concussion he suffered in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins.
Wright returned to practice last week in a limited capacity, but did not practice with the team yesterday, indicating a set back in his recovery.
Wright was placed on injured reserve last season after he struggled to shake the effects of a concussion he suffered against the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 21, 2010. On Jan. 7, Wright was placed on injured reserve. He missed the final six games of the regular season and the postseason game against the Jets.
Wright is in his seventh NFL season and he has played his entire career with the Patriots, who filled Wright’s spot by signing CB Phillip Adams to the 53-man roster.
