FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots signed safety Ross Ventrone from the practice squad to the 53-man roster today, bulking up the team’s depth at the position.
The Patriots also cut wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, who joined the team earlier this week. Underwood was viewed as potential special teams help but the need in the secondary may be at a critical point.
Patrick Chung was limited at practice yesterday due to a foot injury he suffered in the final minutes of Sunday’s loss against the New York Giants. Chung did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He may be a game-time decision tomorrow.
Ventrone adds to his transaction total as he returns to the 53-man roster yet again. Ventrone has played in four games for the Patriots this season mostly on special teams.
