Brady talks after loss

BALTIMORE — Tom Brady was disappointed after Sunday night’s 31-30 loss to the Ravens, but also blunt.

“We just don’t play well when we need to,” Brady said. “Certainly, we’ve got to play our best when it means the most, and we need to start winning close games.”

Brady threw for 335 yards, completing 28 of 41. The only touchdown, which extended his streak of games with at least one to 35, came to Julian Edelman right before halftime, the result of a sporty two-minute drill executed to perfection.

But nursing a 2-point lead and taking the ball with four minutes left, the Patriots coluldn’t close the game out.


“We had a chance to win it,” Brady said. “We just didn’t move the ball consistently enough to score points, score touchdowns. They’re a good defense, they play well at home, and we just didn’t really take advantage of our opportunities.”
