In advance of tonight’s game with the Jets and because of injuries along the offensive line, the Patriots have announced that rookie Markus Zusevics has been placed on the 53-man roster.
Zusevics has been on the reserve/non-football injury list to this point in the season; he went undrafted after tearing a pectoral muscle at the Combine.
The 6-foot-5, 300 pound Iowa product was a two-year starter at right tackle with the Hawkeyes. He will be wearing No. 66.
To make room for Zusevics, the Patriots have waived receiver Greg Salas. Acquired via trade from St. Louis in September, Salas was released after the season opener and signed to the practice squad. He was promoted to the 53-man roster last week.
