Training Camp Daily Briefing: Patriots look to bounce back from sloppy day

Bill Belichick said he was pleased with outcome of Friday’s preseason game, and not just because the Patriots beat the Eagles. His players were able to work on several scenarios that played out in the game — the two-minute drill, being backed up on their own goal line, fourth-down defense — that will help them prepare for the regular season.

Wednesday’s joint practice with the Buccaneers also should provide a valuable teaching lesson — how to bounce back after a subpar day.

Tuesday’s practice with Tampa Bay was not very crisp, with players slipping all over the field because of the rain and dropping several catchable passes. As precise as the Patriots were practicing against the Eagles last week, they were equally sloppy on Tuesday.

But the weather on Wednesday should be perfect, and the Patriots will have a chance to correct their mistakes. Wednesday is also Tim Tebow’s 26th birthday if you want to wish him well at practice.

With that, let’s get on with the Patriots Daily Briefing:
