Report: Amendola has torn adductor muscles, may have sports hernia

Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola has torn adductor muscles in his hip and has gotten conflicting reports from doctors as to whether or not he also has a sports hernia, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting.

Amendola is seeking another opinion on the sports hernia today. If diagnosed with the injury, Amendola will need surgery and will be out three to four weeks. Amendola missed Thursday night’s win over the Jets due to injury. He appeared to suffer, or at least aggravate, his injury or injuries in a Week 1 victory over the Bills. Amendola had 10 receptions for 104 yards in the game.
