Danny Amendola won’t need surgery, league source says

Patriots receiver Danny Amendola is responding well to treatment and won’t need surgery for a groin injury, according to a league source.

Amendola is expected to miss anywhere from two to six weeks, with the source putting his return on the shorter end of that scale.

After missing Thursday’s home opener against the Jets, Amendola was on the field Monday for the portion of practice made accessible to the media. He aggravated the injury in the season-opening win at Buffalo, when he caught 10 passes for 104 yards.
