FOXBOROUGH – Starting left tackle Nate Solder was practicing for the second straight day, while rookie receiver Josh Boyce missed Patriots practice for the third straight day.
Solder sustained a concussion against the Dolphins on Sunday, his second such injury in two weeks. He sat out Wednesday’s practice (just like last week) before joining his teammates for workouts on Thursday and Friday (just like last week). The team will announce Friday afternoon which players, if any, will be ruled out for Sunday’s key game at Baltimore.
That will likely include Boyce, since he hasn’t practiced all week. Boyce injured an ankle last week during the game at Miami, and has been spotted in the locker room this week limping. With Boyce likely out, the Patriots would love to get fellow rookie receivers Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins back. Both players have missed recent games with injuries: Dobson (foot) the last three games, and Thompkins (hip) the past two.
Unlike Wednesday and Thursday, practice on Friday was not inside Gillette Stadium, the team opting instead for the lower grass field. Players were in sweats and shells. Except for defensive tackle Chris Jones: He went with shorts on a sunny, mild day.
