Patriots add defensive assistant Brendan Daly

The Patriots hired eight-year NFL coaching veteran Brendan Daly as a defensive assistant coach.

Daly spent the past two years with the Minnesota Vikings as defensive line coach. Prior to that, he had also been a defensive line coach with the St. Louis Rams and in a prior stint with the Vikings.

Daly was also a defensive line coach in college at Villanova and a tight ends coach at Illinois State. He has 17 years of coaching experience and played tight end in college for Drake.
