In addition to a large tally of quarterbacks, the Patriots have also been associated with an equally impressive number of defensive backs.

You can add Northern Arizona’s Anders Battle to that list, according to a source.

The six-foot cornerback is a two-time All-Big Sky player for the Lumberjacks, totaling 51 tackles, two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a sack in 2013, his senior year. He reportedly ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at his pro day, an average display. But his three-cone drill results (6.94) put him in the top 15 defensive backs. (WEEI’s Chris Price explains in this 2012 piece why the Patriots favor the the three-cone drill.)

Battle’s father is Canadian Football League Hall of Fame player Greg Battle, who played at Arizona State and for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. His mother, Anna, ran track at Arizona state.
