FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots weren’t going to get out of this draft without at least one trade.
The Patriots traded their third round pick, No. 93 overall, to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the the Jaguars’ fourth rounder (105 overall) and sixth rounder (179 overall).
This is the 53rd draft day trade the Patriots have made under Bill Belichick’s leadership. It is the 18th time the Patriots have traded up in the draft.
The Patriots currently have seven more picks in the draft, including three in the fourth round and three in the sixth round. In the first two rounds, the Patriots have selected defensive tackle Dominique Easley and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
