FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots took their second defensive lineman of the NFL draft on Sunday, selecting Concordia St. Paul’s Zach Moore with the 198th overall pick in the sixth round.
Moore, 6-6 and 269 pounds, attended the NFL combine, where he benched 23 reps of 225 pounds, had a 123-inch broad jump, and ran the 3-cone drill in 7.41 seconds.
At Concordia St. Paul, a Division II school in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, he totaled 33 tackles and seven sacks in the 2013 season. In his college career, he tallied 26 sacks in 28 games.
According to a scouting report of Moore by CBS Sports, he has “versatile playing experience, lining up in multiple fronts and inside and outside. Played just about every spot on the defensive line in college as a three-year starter (31 career starts). High energy and won’t cheat himself or his teammates.”
