Veterans Gronk, Logan Mankins, Brandon LaFell Return to the Field

FOXBOROUGH — Despite a steady rain, the Patriots continued their organized team activities outdoors Thursday, with several prominent players returning to practice.

Logan Mankins, Rob Gronkowski, and Brandon LaFell all returned to the field. Wide receiver Aaron Dobson, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, and defensive tackle Armond Armstead were among the team’s absent players.

Thursday’s OTA practice was the second open to the media, and sixth overall. Rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was present after missing the last open session. He had some difficulties, getting intercepted twice, after opting to forgo glove. He was able to make solid decisions and show a little arm strength.
Dominique Easley, the team’s top draft pick, participated in the team’s warmups, but was not present for the rest of the practice. Veterans Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly manned the defensive tackle positions.
