FOXBOROUGH — Patriots defensive captain Jerod Mayo missed his first practice Tuesday as the team started joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mayo, who is returning this season after suffering a pectoral muscle tear, had been present for every practice so far through training camp, including Monday’s practice in Foxborough.
Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett returned to practice Tuesday after missing Sunday and Monday.
Receiver Aaron Dobson (foot) and rookie defensive lineman Dominique Easley (knee) were both in full pads for the joint practice. Tavon Wilson and Ja’Gared Davis were present but not wearing pads.
