Two Weeks Out, No Favorite in Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl Matchup

Less than 24 hours after the Super Bowl XLIX matchup was set, the betting lines moved from the Seahawks holding a slight edge over the Patriots to there being no favorite at all.
As it became clear the Pats were going to beat the Colts, Seattle opened as high as 2.5-point favorites at multiple Las Vegas sports books, but since turned into a pick ‘em at a few different books as of Monday morning, including the Westgate Superbook, MGM Mirage, and Stations, while VegasInsider.com hadtheir consensus as a pick ‘em as well.
A day later, MGM Mirage and Stations both moved their lines to the Patriots being a 1-point favorite, while Wynn LV and CG Technology, who had the Seahawks as 1-point favorites, now have the game as a pick ’em.
If the pick ‘em holds until game time on Feb. 1, it would mark the first time the Super Bowl has ever kicked off without a betting favorite. The Seahawks went into Super Bowl XLVIII as 2.5-point underdogs before torching the Denver Broncos, while in the Patriots last trip to the Big Game – a 21-17 loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI – they were favored between 2.5 and 3 points.
