It’s tough to find room on the Spooner bandwagon as the 21-year-old future stud centerman continues to dominate opposing defenseman with one of the quickest first strides in hockey. In 18 games with Boston, the second-round pick has yet to find the back of the net, but continues to draw attention while carrying the puck into the offensive zone, leading to 10 assists.
With Shawn Thornton and Loui Eriksson now back in the lineup, Boston will have a tough decision to make with playing time, which will eventually force Chiarelli’s hand in using some of his depth to acquire a veteran defenseman. Spooner however, better not be going anywhere, not even Providence.
