Bill Walton certainly adds color to any game he’s commentating.

On Saturday, the Hall of Famer was alongside his broadcasting partner Dave Pasch for a Pac-12 game between Arizona State and Washington. Walton grabbed a cupcake as he sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to someone who’s name he didn’t know, then Pasch told him to “take a bite out of it while it’s lit.”

Walton did just that.

The former oft-injured star, who won a championship and the Sixth Man of the Year award with the Boston Celtics in 1986, opened wide and chomped down on the lit candle and cupcake.

“I was kidding,” Pasch laughed.

Walton seemed nonplussed by the whole affair as he finished up the frosting and threatened to jam the rest of the cupcake in his partner’s face.

Just another day at the office for the legendary analyst.
