Former Celtics Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward were able to do something that their old team failed to do a couple of days prior: beat the Nets.

Hayward put up an impressive performance in the Hornets’ 106-104 win Sunday night. He scored 28 points while adding seven assists and six rebounds to get his first win in Charlotte.

Hayward was the star of the game, but Rozier made the play of the game. Roughly halfway through the third quarter, Rozier received an outlet pass from teammate LaMelo Ball. Rozier went straight on the attack. The 6-foot-1 guard rose up for a dunk on a contesting Kevin Durant, who stands at 6-foot-10. Rozier made the dunk and was fouled by Durant in the process, sinking the ensuing free throw to put the Hornets up 67-60.

Not long after the Hornets’ win on Sunday evening, Rozier took to Instagram to give his own commentary of his highlight play.

“Great first win Let’s go body for body 😈,” Rozier wrote with a picture attached of his dunk over Durant.

Rozier finished the game with 19 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Sunday’s solid performance marked another impressive outing for Rozier in the early days of his second season in Charlotte. In the season-opener against the Cavaliers, Rozier scored a career-high 42 points.

The Hornets’ win over the Nets on Sunday was a big upset as Brooklyn was an 11-point favorite to win. The Nets were also dominant in their first two games of the Durant-Kyrie Irving era, defeating the Warriors by 26 points on opening night and defeating the Celtics by 28 on Christmas Day.
