Quick hits, Part III
Three quick hits from today’s Patriots-Falcons game:
* Michael Koenen’s 58-yard field goal just before halftime was the longest field goal by a Patriots opponent in team history. Prior to today, the longest boot the Patriots had allowed was a 57-yarder to Philadelphia’s David Akers on Sept. 14, 2003.
* Troy Brown is now the Patriots’ second all-time receiver. With his 2-yard reception in the second quarter, Brown claimed sole possession of second place on the Patriots’ all-time receptions list, moving out of a tie with tight end Ben Coates. Brown’s first reception today gave him 491 catches over his 13-year career. He now trails only Stanley Morgan’s franchise record 534 receptions for the highest reception total in team history.
* Tom Brady was perfect in the first quarter, completing all five of his passes for 120 yards and a touchdown, adding up to a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Brady completed his first seven passes of the game and at halftime had completed eight of his 10 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown for a 152.1 passer rating.
More to come.
