Belichick on Poole
In an interview with Mike Felger on Boston sports radio station ESPN 890’s “The Drive” program this afternoon, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked if cornerback Tyrone Poole had suffered a setback.
“No, not really,” replied Belichick. “I think it’s just been one of these situations –- and we’ve had this with a couple guys –- where they come out there and are feeling pretty good and can do some things. They do it and, you know, they just haven’t quite been able to get over the hump. And I know Tyrone has been feeling better; he’s certainly in that category. He’s done some things on the practice field. I do feel like he’s gotten closer but I think we’ve kind of reached the point where –- with several players –- that when they just can’t quite get over the hump, it’s better to give it a little bit of time to quiet down. I don’t think it’s really a setback, it’s more of a little bit of change in what the medical people feel is the quickest road to recovery.”
