Zereoue out

The Patriots made the signing of fullback Heath Evans official today. To make room for him on the roster, running back Amos Zereoue was released.

The Patriots now have Corey Dillon, Kevin Faulk, Patrick Pass and Evans in the offensive backfield. Dillon (ankle), Pass (leg) and Faulk (foot) are all ailing. But the fact Faulk wasn’t placed on injured reserve could be a sign the team is holding out hope he might return later this year.

Evans will wear No. 44.
