McGINEST CHECKS IN: Outside linebacker Willie McGinest held a conference call with the Indianapolis media today and was asked how the Patriots have dominated against the Colts in recent years. “I don’t think it’s any magical or special things that we do, or else everybody would be doing it,” he said. “The Colts are a very good team. All of that has been in the past, as far as us winning. This is a new year. They’re the best football team in the game right now, so we have our work cut out for us.”
EXTRA POINTS: Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked just seven questions in a conference call with Indianapolis writers today, while Tony Dungy fielded 24 in his conference call with New England writers … McGinest was also asked seven questions in his conference call, while Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney was asked 28 … Former Patriots linebacker Wesly Mallard has signed with the Buccaneers.
Looking ahead, we’ll plan on posting our next update Friday after Bill Belichick’s scheduled press conference (10:30 a.m. ET).
