Julian Edelman had the play of the game Saturday night, his 51-yard touchdown pass tying the score and swinging momentum in the Patriots’ favor.
While a nice pass, it’s unlikely the former college quarterback is pushing the team’s 10-time Pro Bowl signal-caller for playing time. Nevertheless, the comic scribes at Funny or Die had some fun with the storyline, mocking up a text thread in which Edelman offers to mentor Brady.
Edelman opens the 3 a.m. convo asking Brady whether he saw the touchdown pass, later suggesting the team incorporate a strategy of “throwing touchdown passes.’’ When Brady suggests doing so is difficult, Edelman offers his 100 percent success rate as a retort.
Elsewhere, Belichick has yet to comment on whether he’ll evaluate the quarterback position in light of Edelman’s showof prowess.
