Days after Bill Belichick’s awkard-yet-funny appearance on “The Late Show With Daivd Letterman,’’ the coach featured in another interview Friday, this time as an impression by Tom Hanks.
The veteran actor told Letterman he and his sons play a game called “head coach as stepdad’’ in which, naturally, they imagine what NFL head coaches would be as stepdads.
Hanks demonstrated his impressions of a handful of NFL coaches including Bill Belichick, Rex Ryan, Tom Coughlin and Jimmy Johnson. None were particularly reminiscent of their inspiration’s voice or mannerisms, but Hanks nailed their personalities, from Belichick’s gruff neutrality to Ryan’s penchant for over-the-top color.
